Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community while gaining valuable volunteer experience? SCAMA is currently recruiting compassionate and dedicated volunteers to support seniors in Laval through a variety of rewarding volunteer opportunities. Whether you enjoy helping in the kitchen, delivering meals, leading activities, or simply providing companionship, there is a place for you at SCAMA.
For over 45 years, SCAMA has been helping adults aged 50 and over maintain their independence and continue living at home through essential community services. By joining their volunteer team, you'll make a lasting impact on the lives of seniors while becoming part of an inclusive and welcoming organization.
Commitment:
Type: Ongoing in-person volunteer opportunities
Schedule: Flexible based on your availability
Hours: Minimum commitment of 2 hours per day
Start Date: Available year-round
Location: Laval, Quebec
Volunteer Opportunities Available:
Meals on Wheels Driver — Deliver nutritious meals to seniors living independently, provide friendly interaction, and help reduce isolation
Kitchen Volunteer — Assist the Head Chef with meal preparation and packaging
Community Centre Activity Volunteer — Lead workshops, language classes, conversation groups, or provide computer assistance
Friday Food Assistance Volunteer — Support food distribution programs and welcome community members
Friendship Call Volunteer — Make friendly calls or visits to reduce social isolation and provide companionship
Administrative Volunteer — Assist with office support and administrative tasks (opportunities available in multiple languages)
Senior Outing & Special Event Volunteer — Accompany seniors during outings and help organize special events
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Criminal record check required
Friendly, compassionate, and reliable
Comfortable working with seniors from diverse cultural backgrounds
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Passion for community service and helping others
Driver's license and access to a vehicle required for Meals on Wheels Driver volunteers
