Emerging Leaders Placement Project
Are you passionate about strategic planning, fundraising, and event coordination? Do you want to contribute to an important milestone in a meaningful organization's history? L'Arche Montreal is forming a small team of volunteers to develop a comprehensive vision and action plan for their 50th anniversary celebration and fundraising strategy, with a major gala celebration planned for September 2027.
This is an excellent opportunity to bring your professional expertise to a social mission while collaborating with a dedicated team and L'Arche Montreal staff to create a memorable and impactful 50th anniversary initiative.
Commitment:
Type: Ongoing hybrid volunteer opportunity
Schedule: Very flexible based on volunteer availability
Hours: 2–5 hours per week
Start date: As soon as possible, with initial phase focused on planning and strategy development
Main celebration: September 2027
Format: Hybrid (combination of in-person meetings and virtual participation)
Location: L'Arche Montreal, 6105 Rue Jogues, Montreal (some meetings may be virtual)
Meeting frequency: Determined with volunteers based on availability and project stages
Ideal Volunteer Profiles:
L'Arche Montreal is looking for individuals with complementary backgrounds and experience in one or more of the following areas. No specific certification is required, and volunteers do not need to possess all of these skills.
Project management and coordination
Strategic planning and visioning
Fundraising and philanthropy
Partnership development
Communications and messaging
Event planning and execution
Marketing and brand development
Requirements:
Experience or strong interest in project management, strategic planning, fundraising, event planning, communications, partnerships, or marketing
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and nonprofit staff
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Commitment to a meaningful social mission
Flexibility and adaptability to project needs
Strong communication skills
Willingness to contribute ideas and perspectives
No specific certifications required
Complementary skills with other team members valued
Key Responsibilities:
Vision & Strategy Development
Help define the objectives and overall direction of the 50th anniversary
Develop a preparation timeline leading up to September 2027
Contribute to strategic planning and visioning for the celebration
Help establish a realistic financial goal
Event Planning & Programming
Propose activities and initiatives to celebrate the 50th anniversary
Contribute to planning and development of the 50th anniversary evening celebration
Help develop the theme, messaging, and identity of the 50th anniversary
Support event logistics and execution planning
Fundraising Strategy
Explore and develop a fundraising campaign related to the anniversary
Identify fundraising strategies appropriate for L'Arche Montreal
Propose sponsorship, partnership, and donation opportunities
Help identify potential fundraising events and initiatives
Audience & Partnership Development
Identify potential audiences, donors, and partners to engage
Develop partnership and sponsorship proposals
Help build relationships with key stakeholders
Support communication with potential donors and supporters
Resource Planning
Identify the resources required to implement selected initiatives
Develop realistic timelines and budgets
Identify next steps needed for implementation
Support coordination with L'Arche Montreal team
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with other volunteers and L'Arche Montreal staff
Share expertise and perspectives with team members
Contribute to collective decision-making
Support the overall 50th anniversary vision
