Join the Emerging Leaders Placement Project as an Event Support Volunteer for our Career & Volunteer Fair at UBC Okanagan. This exciting one-day event brings together youth, students, community members, and organizations for a day of networking, career development, and volunteer engagement.


Volunteers will play an important role in creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants.


Location: In-person at University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBCO), Kelowna, BC

Commitment: One full day – Thursday, November 6, 2025 (approx. 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, including orientation and breaks)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with event setup, registration, and attendee check-in

  • Welcome guests, distribute materials, and provide directions

  • Support exhibitors and ensure smooth traffic flow across stations

  • Help manage the professional headshot and résumé workshop areas

  • Collaborate with the Emerging Leaders team to ensure event success


What We’re Looking For:

  • Friendly, reliable, and proactive individuals

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Interest in community engagement, event planning, or youth leadership

  • No prior experience required—training provided

  • Volunteer Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (includes orientation, event support, and teardown)

  • Dress Code: Business casual or smart casual (name badge provided)

  • Perks: Refreshments and scheduled breaks provided


A short virtual orientation will be held one week before the event via Zoom.

Volunteers will receive an email with details and the meeting link after registration is confirmed, plus a reminder 2–3 days before the session.
