Are you passionate about event planning, youth leadership, and building community across Canada?

Join the Women in Leadership (WIL) Foundation’s Emerging Leaders Placement Project (ELPP) as an Events Coordinator and play a key role in supporting upcoming youth-focused events in these regions. This hybrid volunteer position is perfect for organized, creative, people-focused individuals who want hands-on experience in event coordination with a national nonprofit.
You’ll help plan and execute engaging ELPP events by supporting logistics, communications, partner outreach, youth engagement, and event-day operations (when available).
Commitment: ~4–6 hours per week (December–June)
Location: Hybrid – Toronto preferred, but not required
Requirements: Strong organization, communication, teamwork skills; passion for community events and youth empowerment.

What You’ll Do
Event Planning & Coordination
Support planning for upcoming ELPP events and workshops in Toronto
Assist with logistics: scheduling, coordinating volunteers, managing checklists, and tracking registrations
Maintain spreadsheets for planning progress, partner engagement, and attendee lists
Community & Partner Engagement
Communicate with local nonprofits, vendors, partners, and youth attendees
Support outreach efforts and relationship-building with community organizations
Communications & Promotion
Assist in creating and sharing promotional materials (in collaboration with the national Communications Team)
Support email and messaging coordination for youth participants and community partners
Event-Day Support (if local)
Assist with check-ins, setup, volunteer guidance, and participant support
Represent WIL and ELPP with professionalism and enthusiasm
Team Collaboration
Attend virtual planning meetings with the ELPP national team
Support the smooth execution of milestones and timelines
We’re looking for someone who is:
Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
Comfortable communicating with youth, partners, and nonprofit organizations
Able to work independently and collaboratively
Passionate about event planning, youth empowerment, and community building
Based in Calgary (preferred, but remote participation also welcome)
Able to commit 4–6 hours per week from December to June
Experience in events, youth programs, hospitality, administration, or coordination is helpful but not required
