Join the Parents for SickKids 2026 Marketing & Communications Volunteer Committee and help raise awareness, engagement, and excitement for this impactful annual event supporting SickKids Hospital. Volunteers will collaborate with an experienced and dedicated team to deliver creative campaigns and inspire community involvement.


This hybrid opportunity offers flexibility, professional growth, and the chance to apply (or develop) skills in digital media, storytelling, and event promotion — all while supporting a cause that changes lives.


Location: Hybrid (Virtual with optional on-site support in Toronto / GTHA)

Commitment: 1–2 hours/week pre-event; 4–6 hours onsite May 3; 1–2 hours/week post-event


Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketing & PR Lead (1 position)

    • Develop and oversee the communications and marketing strategy for the event

    • Maintain brand voice and ensure message consistency across channels

    • Build and manage a content calendar aligned with event milestones

    • Collaborate with committee leads to ensure cohesive promotion

  • Social Media Sub-Committee (2 positions)

    • Create and schedule engaging content for social media platforms

    • Respond to messages, comments, and engage with followers and sponsors

    • Track engagement analytics and recommend content improvements

  • Influencer & Ambassador Sub-Committee (2 positions)

    • Identify and recruit local influencers aligned with event goals

    • Coordinate deliverables (social posts, attendance, giveaways)

    • Support influencer engagement and provide creative content ideas

  • PR & Media Outreach (2 positions)

    • Assist with drafting press releases, advisories, and story pitches

    • Research and connect with local media, bloggers, and community newsletters

    • Support with media tracking and post-event press coverage reports


What We’re Looking For:

  • Interest in marketing, communications, social media, or public relations

  • Creative and organized individuals with a collaborative mindset

  • Strong writing and communication skills (asset but not required)

  • Open to learning and contributing in a dynamic team environment

  • Experience is an asset, but training and mentorship will be provided

  • Location: Four Seasons Hotel, Toronto

  • Volunteer Hours: ~4–6 hours onsite (plus flexible pre- and post-event hours)

  • Dress Code: Smart casual or branded shirt/professional casual

  • Training: Virtual training and onboarding sessions provided before the event via the Marketing Lead
