Join the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal (Fondation du MAC) for Le Bal du MAC 2026, an emblematic fundraising evening that brings together hundreds of guests in a festive and philanthropic atmosphere. As an Event Support Volunteer, you will play a key role in ensuring the success of this prestigious event by welcoming guests, supporting event flow, and contributing to an unforgettable experience.

This is a one-time, in-person volunteer opportunity where you'll gain hands-on experience in large-scale event operations while networking with professionals, donors, and fellow volunteers in Montreal's vibrant arts community.

Commitment: One-time event | September 25, 2026

  • Volunteer shifts vary (all volunteers arrive at 4:45 PM; event runs from 5:30 PM – 3:00 AM)

  • Approx. 6–10 hours depending on role

Location: In-person, La Nesra – 2020 William Street, Montreal, QC

Roles & Schedule

All volunteers must arrive at 4:45 PM:

  • Welcome Team (8), 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM: Welcome guests, scan tickets, distribute wristbands. Some may transition to raffle team at 8:00 PM

  • Coat Check & Gift Bag Distribution (4), 5:30 PM – 3:30 AM: Collect and tag coats and bags, return items efficiently, and distribute gift bags before departure

  • Raffle Sales (16 – teams of 2), 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM: Circulate with payment terminals, sell raffle tickets, process payments. Must be comfortable with sales.

  • Auction Support (2), 5:30 PM – 12:00 AM: Assist guests with the online auction platform, answer questions, provide technical support

  • General Circulation (2), 5:30 PM – 11:00 PM: Direct guests and ensure smooth flow in key event areas

Requirements

  • Must be 18+

  • Bilingual (French required; English is an asset)

  • Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with guests

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced event environment

  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and moving within busy spaces

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Experience in events, customer service, or hospitality is an asset

  • Dress code: Dark, professional attire (black, navy, grey). Comfortable shoes essential. Volunteer badge provided.

  • Bring a reusable water bottle
