Emerging Leaders Placement Project

Are you comfortable working in a welcoming, community-focused environment? Do you have strong communication skills and a genuine desire to support women in your community? Women's Solidarity and Action Centre is looking for Reception Volunteers to support their day-to-day operations and help create an inclusive, accessible space for all participants.


Commitment:

  • Type: Ongoing opportunity

  • Schedule: 3 hours per week, Tuesday to Thursday

  • Available shifts: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM OR 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (flexible based on availability)

  • Monthly commitment: Approximately 12 hours per month

  • Rotation model: Multiple volunteers preferred for coverage


Location: Montreal, Quebec


Requirements:

  • 18 years or older

  • Comfortable interacting with the public

  • Basic computer skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Fluent in French with basic English proficiency preferred

  • Previous reception or administrative experience is not required but an asset


Key Responsibilities:

  • Reception & Client Interaction

    • Welcome participants and visitors warmly and professionally

    • Answer and direct phone calls appropriately

    • Take messages and provide accurate information about programs and services

  • Administrative Support

    • Assist with participant registration and attendance tracking

    • Process membership registrations and payments

    • Support light administrative tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly

  • Community Engagement

    • Help maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment for women

    • Work closely with Centre staff to support their mission
