Join Action jeunesse de l'ouest de l'île (AJOI) as a volunteer animator and help create safe, inclusive, and fun spaces for youth ages 12–25 in Montréal’s West Island. This ongoing, in-person opportunity offers the chance to connect with diverse communities, support recreational activities, and make a meaningful impact in young people’s lives.


This is a weekly volunteer opportunity with flexible scheduling — volunteers can choose from a variety of youth activities, ranging from sports to open gym programs.


Commitment: Weekly or biweekly (flexible based on your availability)

Location: West Island, Montréal, QC

Requirements: Ages 14-30; no prior experience required — enthusiasm, reliability, and willingness to engage with youth are key


What You’ll Gain

What You’ll Do

  • Animate and support youth activities (sports, open gym, recreation)

  • Encourage participation and foster a welcoming environment

  • Track and count the number of participants present

  • Collaborate with AJOI staff and other volunteers to ensure smooth activities


Volunteer Opportunities & Schedule

  • Hockey, Skating, and Other Sports

    Location: Parc A-Ma-Baie, 9651 Boul Gouin O, Montréal, QC H8Y 2C5

10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (every second Saturday)

  • Open Gym (Afternoon)

Complexe St-Raphaël, 750 Boul Jacques-Bizard, L'Île-Bizard, QC H9C 2Y2

3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Saturdays)

  • Open Gym (Evening)

École secondaire Altitude, 5060 Boul des Sources, Pierrefonds, QC H8Y 3E4

6:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Saturdays)


Volunteers may choose one or more activities/shifts based on interest and availability.


By volunteering with AJOI, you’ll be helping to provide safe, accessible programming that strengthens resilience, promotes inclusion, and supports youth development in the West Island.
