Are you passionate about community outreach, humanitarian impact, and helping improve access to vision care?

Join 20/20 Mission as a Collection Volunteer and help expand a national eyeglass collection program that redistributes donated glasses to people who may not otherwise be able to afford them. This flexible, hybrid volunteer opportunity allows you to organize collection efforts in your own community while contributing to a meaningful humanitarian initiative.


Commitment: Ongoing, flexible scheduling (approximately 6–8 hours per month)

Location: Hybrid, Canada-wide

Priority recruitment in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba


Requirements:

  • Strong communication and outreach skills

  • Comfort organizing information using spreadsheets or basic tracking tools

  • Ability to work independently and self-manage projects

  • Interest in community service and humanitarian impact

  • Experience in outreach, logistics, or community partnerships is an asset but not required


Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Partnerships & Outreach

    • Identify local clinics, optical stores, and community organizations that may host eyeglass donation boxes

    • Reach out to potential partners to establish donation partnerships

    • Coordinate placement of eyeglass donation boxes in approved locations

    • Maintain relationships with participating partners and check in periodically

  • Collection & Program Support

    • Conduct periodic pickups of donated eyeglasses from partner locations

    • Track collection activity using simple data organization tools such as spreadsheets or Excel

    • Collaborate with other volunteers in your region when needed

    • Support the growth of the national eyeglass collection network


Volunteers who collect a significant number of donated glasses may be invited to participate in additional program activities including:

  • Cleaning donated glasses

  • Sorting and organizing eyewear

  • Measuring and verifying prescriptions


Training is provided for these advanced roles, offering additional experience in logistics, quality control, and humanitarian program operations.
