Day Camp Volunteer – Niteo Africa Society (Kelowna)

Are you passionate about working with children and creating meaningful summer experiences?

Join Niteo Africa Society as a Day Camp Volunteer and help make summer unforgettable for children in Kelowna. This in-person opportunity is perfect for caring, energetic individuals who enjoy supporting kids through play, learning, and creativity in a fun day camp environment.

As a Day Camp Volunteer, you’ll play an important role in helping children feel supported, engaged, and excited throughout their summer camp experience.

Location: Kelowna, BC (In-person)

Commitment: 5 hours per shift, minimum 2 shifts per week (July 2026)

Requirements

• Ages 16+

• Enjoys working with children

• Willing to support reading, games, crafts, and STEM activities

• Must complete an interview process

• Provide references

• Criminal Record Check required

Key Responsibilities

• Child & Program Support

  • Read with children and encourage literacy in a fun, supportive way

  • Assist with games, crafts, and hands-on STEM activities

  • Support camp leaders with daily programming and transitions

• Creating a Positive Camp Environment

  • Help ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging space for all children

  • Encourage participation, creativity, and teamwork

  • Build positive relationships with campers and fellow volunteers
