Emerging Leaders Placement Project

Are you passionate about making a difference in children's lives? Do you want to support families affected by domestic violence in a meaningful way? Radiance Family Society is looking for 1–2 compassionate volunteers to support their Summer Day Camp program and help create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children.

This rewarding opportunity allows you to work alongside our experienced Program Facilitator in a supportive team environment—you'll never be supervising alone. Together, we'll create meaningful experiences for children while supporting families on their healing journey.


Commitment:

  • Schedule: Every Saturday

  • Dates: July 25 – August 27, 2026

  • Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Program Sessions:

    • Morning: 10:30 AM – 11:45 AM

    • Afternoon: 1:15 PM – 4:45 PM

  • Positions Available: 1–2 volunteers needed


Location: Radiance Family Society, Calgary, Alberta


Requirements:

  • 18 years or older

  • Passion for working with children

  • Compassion for families affected by domestic violence

  • Reliability and commitment to consistent Saturday participation

  • Police check required (mandatory for child-facing roles)

  • No prior childcare experience necessary


Key Responsibilities:

  • Child Engagement & Support

    • Work alongside Program Facilitator Chloe to create fun, safe activities

    • Engage with children in a positive, encouraging manner

    • Support children's emotional and social development

  • Program Support

    • Assist during morning and afternoon program sessions

    • Help facilitate activities and transitions

    • Maintain a trauma-informed, supportive environment

  • Teamwork & Communication

    • Collaborate closely with the Program Facilitator

    • Communicate effectively with team members and families

    • Follow safety and program protocols
