Event Support Volunteer – Calgary Opera (Calgary)

Are you passionate about the arts, live performances, and creating memorable audience experiences?

Join Calgary Opera as an Event Support Volunteer and help support performances and community events presented by one of Canada’s leading professional opera companies. This in-person opportunity allows you to contribute to engaging arts experiences while building valuable event and community engagement skills.

Commitment: Approximately 3 hours per event (ongoing opportunities)

Location: Various locations throughout Calgary, Alberta

Requirements:

• Volunteers 18+ may volunteer independently

• Volunteers ages 14–17 must volunteer alongside an adult

• Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with the public

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Interest in the arts, performances, or community events

Available Volunteer Roles:

• Audience Services & Front of House

  • Welcome and assist guests before and during events

  • Provide directions, answer questions, and support audience experience

  • Help maintain an organized and welcoming environment

• Concession & Event Support

  • Assist with concession service and event flow

  • Support setup, cleanup, and general event logistics

  • Help ensure smooth operations throughout performances and activities

• Arts & Crafts & Community Activities

  • Support interactive arts activities and engagement opportunities

  • Assist with family-friendly or community programming events

  • Encourage a positive and inclusive atmosphere for participants
