Festival Support — Art Souterrain (Downtown Montreal)

Are you passionate about arts, culture, and community engagement?

Join Art Souterrain, a leading cultural organization recognized for bringing contemporary art into public and unconventional spaces. As part of the Art Souterrain 2026 Festival, you will support artistic activities, public events, and visitor engagement in the heart of downtown Montreal. This is an in-person volunteer opportunity offering hands-on experience in a vibrant, cultural, and community-focused environment.

Festival Dates: April 25 - May 10, 2026 (Some roles begin earlier for special events)

Location: Downtown Montreal (Exact locations to be confirmed)

Requirements

• 18 years old or older

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Comfortable engaging with the public

• Dynamic, adaptable, and reliable

• Team-oriented attitude

Available Support Roles:

1. Public Relations Support

   • Dates & Times:

     • Press Conference: April 23 at 10:00 AM

     • Opening Night: Evening of April 25

   • Support Needed: At least 3 participants per event

   • Key Responsibilities:

     • Welcome journalists and invited guests

     • Direct attendees to seating areas

     • Assist with event setup and preparation

     • Support the organizing team with on-site tasks

2. Artistic Events Support

   • Dates: April 25 to May 10, 2026

   • Schedule:

     • Daily activities, short shifts (1–2 hours per activity)

     • Possibility to support multiple activities per day or week

     • Minimum availability of 2–3 consecutive hours preferred

   • Support Needed:1–2 participants per activity

   • Key Responsibilities:

     • Assist with the delivery of artistic activities and conferences

     • Welcome and guide participants

     • Support setup and teardown

     • Assist facilitators during workshops and talks

3. Reception & Event Support

   • Dates: April 25 to May 10, 2026

   • Schedule: Daytime shifts (exact time slots to be confirmed)

   • Support Needed: No minimum

   • Key Responsibilities:

     • Welcome visitors and attendees

     • Provide general information about the festival

     • Answer questions and support visitor flow

     • Assist the on-site team as needed

4. Community Engagement Support

   • Dates: April 25 to May 10, 2026

   • Schedule: Flexible daytime availability

   • Support Needed: At least 2 participants (preferably working in pairs)

   • Key Responsibilities:

     • Engage with the public throughout the festival

     • Support audience interaction and outreach initiatives

     • Assist with collecting feedback and general engagement activities
