Are you passionate about contemporary art, community events, and connecting with visitors in a creative environment?

Join EMMEDIA Gallery & Production Society as a Gallery Attendant Volunteer and help support a dynamic artist-run media arts space in Calgary. This in-person opportunity allows you to engage with contemporary exhibitions, welcome visitors, and gain hands-on experience within a professional gallery environment.
Commitment: Ongoing, approximately 3–5 hours/month
Location: In-person – 2005 10 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T3C 0K4
Requirements:
Interest in contemporary art and media arts
Comfortable interacting with visitors and discussing artwork
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable and professional
Key Responsibilities:
Gallery Attendant Duties
Welcome visitors into the gallery and help create a positive experience
Learn about current exhibitions and discuss artwork comfortably with guests
Provide general information and assist visitors during gallery hours
Opening Reception & Event Support
Assist during monthly Opening Receptions and special events
Support event setup, teardown, and crowd flow
Help welcome attendees and maintain an organized environment
If applicable, assist with ticket scanning and ticket sales
Community & Artist Engagement
Meet and interact with local and national artists in the media arts sector
Support a welcoming and inclusive arts community environment
Gain exposure to contemporary media arts practices and exhibitions
