Do you enjoy working with children and want to support their academic success? Loisirs Bon-Pasteur is seeking patient, attentive volunteers to provide homework help and academic support to students. As a Homework Help Volunteer, you'll work with children in a supportive environment, helping them build confidence in their studies while developing their academic skills.
No specific training is required—just patience, attentiveness, and motivation to make a difference in a student's academic journey.
Commitment:
Type: Ongoing volunteer opportunity
Schedule: Flexible, evenings or weekends
Hours: 2-3 hours per week (approximately 8 hours per month)
Format: In-person
Location: Loisirs Bon-Pasteur, Laval
Seasons: September to December and January to June
Requirements:
Patient, attentive, and supportive attitude
Motivated to make a difference in children's academic success
Comfortable working with students of various ages and abilities
No specific training required
Reliable and consistent attendance
Ability to adapt to individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Support
Help students with homework assignments
Explain concepts in accessible, understandable ways
Encourage independent thinking and problem-solving
Support reading, writing, math, and other subjects
Student Engagement
Build rapport with students and create supportive relationships
Listen to student concerns and questions patiently
Provide positive feedback and encouragement
Celebrate student progress and achievements
Communication & Adaptation
Adapt teaching approaches to individual student needs
Work with multiple learning styles
Communicate progress to program coordinators
Respond to student questions and concerns
