Are you looking for a meaningful way to support families and make a difference in your community? Répit Providence is looking for volunteers to assist with a variety of community activities, special events, seasonal projects, and ongoing initiatives throughout the year.
Whether you're interested in volunteering regularly or would rather participate in occasional events, Répit Providence offers flexible opportunities based on your availability and interests. This is a great opportunity to connect with families and community members, contribute to meaningful local initiatives, and become part of a welcoming volunteer community.

Type: Ongoing and occasional volunteer opportunities

Flexibility: Volunteers may choose to participate regularly or only during specific events and projects
Requirements:
Adults and minors may volunteer depending on the specific assignment
Comfortable participating in an in-person community environment
CPR certification is considered an asset but is not required
An SPVM criminal background check is mandatory
Specific requirements may vary depending on the volunteer assignment
Willingness to engage with families in a welcoming and respectful manner
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer responsibilities will vary depending on current needs and may include:
Community & Special Event Support
Assist with community events and festive activities
Support upcoming events such as community picnics
Help with event preparation, organization, and activities
Engage with families and community members in a welcoming environment
Christmas Basket Distribution
Assist with seasonal Christmas distribution activities
Help organize and prepare items for distribution
Support the distribution of Christmas baskets to families
Contribute to holiday initiatives and seasonal support
Facility & Community Space Support
Assist with cleaning and organizing Répit Providence's facilities
Help with painting projects as needed
Support seasonal organization and maintenance projects
Maintain welcoming and safe community spaces
Garden Maintenance
Assist with maintaining and organizing outdoor garden spaces
Participate in seasonal garden clean-up and related activities
Help create and maintain community garden initiatives
Support outdoor space development and improvements
Ongoing Volunteer Support
Participate in additional volunteer assignments based on Répit Providence's current needs
Volunteers interested in a longer-term commitment may participate regularly across several different initiatives
Help with various community-based projects throughout the year

Additional Information:
All volunteer opportunities are in person
No minimum volunteer commitment required
Both ongoing and occasional volunteer opportunities are available
The number of volunteers required varies depending on the event and availability of Répit Providence's regular volunteers
Répit Providence's facilities are unfortunately not currently adapted for individuals with physical disabilities; however, some volunteer activities take place outdoors
