CIBC Run for the Cure is seeking volunteers (ages 14+, some positions 19+) to support this inspiring one-day event across multiple Canadian locations. As a volunteer, you'll help thousands of participants walk and run in support of cancer research and support services. This is an accessible opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while developing teamwork and event coordination skills.
Volunteer roles include registration, setup and logistics, course direction, encouragement stations, participant support, and general event assistance. Whether you're a first-time volunteer or experienced, you'll be welcomed, supported, and appreciated.
Commitment:
Type: One-day volunteer opportunity
Date: Sunday, October 4, 2026
Hours: Approximately 6 hours (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM)
Format: In-person
Locations: Multiple Canadian cities (find your city at www.volunteercancer.ca)
Age Requirement: Minimum 14 years old (some positions 19+)
Organization: Canadian Cancer Society
Requirements:
Must be at least 14 years old (some positions require 19+)
Enthusiastic and team-oriented attitude
Comfortable interacting with diverse participants
Reliable and punctual
Willingness to work outdoors and be active for 6 hours
Interest in supporting cancer research and care services
Able to follow instructions and work collaboratively
Volunteer Roles Include:
Registration: Welcome participants, verify information, distribute bibs and materials
Setup & Logistics: Assist with event setup, course preparation, and material distribution
Course Direction: Guide participants along the course route and provide directions
Encouragement Stations: Cheer on and motivate participants throughout their walk/run
Participant Support: Provide assistance to participants, help with concerns or needs
General Event Assistance: Support wherever needed to ensure event success
