Emerging Leaders Placement Project

Are you a creative communicator who loves storytelling and building online communities? Women in Leadership Foundation's Victoria Chapter is seeking a dynamic Social Media Volunteer to help amplify our chapter initiatives, promote leadership events, and build meaningful connections across Canada.

This is a flexible, remote-friendly opportunity to gain practical social media management experience with a national nonprofit organization while supporting women's leadership development across the country.

Commitment:

  • Type: Ongoing flexible volunteer opportunity

  • Schedule: Flexible based on your availability

  • Hours: Approximately 4 hours per week

  • Format: Remote (Victoria preferred, but open across Canada)

  • Location: Can work from anywhere in Canada

  • Start date: Flexible, to be arranged with successful candidate

Requirements:

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Familiarity with major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)

  • Experience using Canva or willingness to learn

  • Organized and dependable

  • Ability to work independently

  • Passion for leadership, community engagement, and supporting women in leadership

  • Reliable internet connection for remote work

  • Comfortable with collaborative digital communication tools

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Content Creation

    • Create and schedule engaging content for LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram

    • Develop branded graphics and visuals using Canva

    • Maintain consistent voice and messaging across platforms

    • Create content that reflects chapter values and national mission

  • Chapter Promotion & Engagement

    • Promote Victoria Chapter networking events and leadership initiatives

    • Promote mentorship programs and professional development sessions

    • Highlight member achievements and chapter success stories

    • Encourage community engagement and online participation

  • Social Media Management

    • Monitor social media engagement and analytics

    • Assist with responding to comments and messages

    • Track performance and suggest content improvements

    • Stay current with social media trends and best practices

  • Team Collaboration

    • Collaborate with the Victoria Chapter and National Marketing Team

    • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms

    • Attend occasional virtual planning meetings

    • Contribute ideas to strengthen social media presence

    • Communicate regularly with chapter leadership and marketing team

  • Content Strategy

    • Develop content calendars aligned with chapter events and initiatives

    • Propose new content ideas and campaign concepts

    • Support national campaigns while highlighting local chapter initiatives

    • Adapt content for different platforms and audiences
