Volunteer Advisor Remote– Volunteer Toronto
Want to help people find meaningful volunteer opportunities in Toronto?
Volunteer Toronto is looking for Volunteer Advisors to help volunteer seekers navigate the volunteering process and find the information they need.
You’ll connect with people remotely by phone or Zoom, answer questions about volunteering, explain how to use the Volunteer Toronto website, and help people better understand volunteer postings. You’ll also help track communications and support the Advisor team.
This is a great opportunity to build customer service, communication, and administrative skills while learning more about Toronto’s nonprofit and volunteer sector.
Commitment:
Type: Flexible, ongoing volunteer opportunity
Frequency: Approximately 2 hours per week
Schedule: Weekdays only
Format: Fully remote
Location: Ontario
Volunteers Needed: Up to 6
Minimum Hours contributed per month: 9
Requirements:
Friendly, respectful, and comfortable helping others
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Reliable access to a computer/laptop, internet, and a private workspace
Comfortable learning and using new technologies
Able to download and navigate applications on a phone and computer
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
Able to connect remotely during your scheduled shifts
What You’ll Do:
Connecting with volunteer seekers, through Zoom or phone, using Volunteer Toronto’s phone and zoom line.
Connect and answer Advisors’ emails.
Answering general questions about the volunteering process, and explaining how to navigate VT’s website
Tracking information and maintaining an electronic log of communications.
Attending monthly check-in meetings with the Advisor Team.

You’ll also have the opportunity to attend Volunteer Toronto training and receive confirmation of your volunteer hours and references where needed.
