Are you organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about community work and food security? Do you want to develop skills in nonprofit administration and digital communications? Resto Plateau is looking for a bilingual volunteer to support their Food Security and Volunteer Programs through administrative coordination and compelling communications work.
This hybrid opportunity allows you to work both on-site and remotely, developing real-world experience in nonprofit operations while contributing to initiatives that address food insecurity in Montreal.
Commitment:
Type: Ongoing volunteer opportunity
Schedule: 4–6 hours per week (flexible)
Format: Hybrid
On-site during initial onboarding period
Remote work available once training is complete
Location: Montreal, Quebec
Requirements:
Minimum age: 20 years old
Fluent in French (bilingual is an asset)
Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
Comfortable using computers and common digital tools
Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Able to work independently while collaborating with a team
Interest in community work, volunteer engagement, or food security (asset)
No certification required
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Program Support
Monitor and follow up on volunteer applications and inquiries
Assist in organizing and coordinating monthly orientation sessions for new volunteers
Provide general administrative support related to volunteer coordination
Food Security Program Support
Help create a recipe booklet featuring recipes based on non-perishable food hamper contents
Monitor social media channels and identify engagement opportunities
Create content for social media and external communications
Provide general administrative and project support as needed
Digital Communications
Develop and manage social media content
Assist with external communications and community outreach
Support digital projects and initiatives

Through their Food Security and Volunteer Programs, they work to ensure that all community members have access to nutritious food and opportunities to engage meaningfully in their neighborhoods.
Volunteer Recruitment Process:
Interested volunteers will be referred through Women in Leadership. Resto Plateau will then contact selected candidates to discuss the opportunity, review availability, and complete their volunteer onboarding process before placement begins.

On-site presence preferred during initial training; remote work becomes available once established
