Are you passionate about community support, social impact, and helping women and families build stable futures?

Join Karis Support Society as a Community Support Volunteer and contribute to programs that empower women and children through recovery, stability, and independence. This in-person opportunity allows you to contribute in a variety of meaningful roles within a supportive and structured care environment.


Commitment: Flexible; shift-based or event-based

Location: In-person – Kelowna, British Columbia


Requirements:

  • Criminal record check required

  • Child-minding roles require additional screening and immunizations

  • Ability to work in a respectful, regulated care environment

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Interest in social services and community impact

  • Interest in child development


Key Responsibilities for Available Roles:

  • Program & Child-Minding Support

    • Support children during programming through child-minding roles

    • Help create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for families

    • Assist staff in maintaining a positive and structured program setting

  • Events & Program Support

    • Assist with event setup, logistics, and activities

    • Support the coordination and flow of programming events

    • Help create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for participants

  • Housekeeping & Facility Support

    • Prepare, clean, and set up program spaces

    • Assist with general upkeep to support a regulated care environment

    • Ensure spaces are welcoming and functional for clients and staff


Role availability may vary depending on organization needs.
