Do you enjoy driving and helping seniors? Would you like to make a meaningful difference in someone's life while supporting community nutrition?

Entraide Ahuntsic Nord is seeking compassionate drivers to deliver hot meals to seniors in the Ahuntsic Nord community. As people age, it is quite common for them to lose the desire or ability to cook; however, proper nutrition remains essential. Our organization helps seniors continue to enjoy nutritious meals without having to cook or grocery shop themselves.

This is a meaningful volunteer opportunity to build connections within your community while bringing joy and essential nutrition to seniors experiencing social isolation.

Commitment:

• Type: Ongoing volunteer opportunity

• Schedule: At least once per week

• Hours: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

• Days: Monday to Friday

• Format: In-person

• Location: Entraide Ahuntsic Nord – 10780 Laverdure Street, Suite 110, Montreal, Quebec H3L 2L9

• Vehicle: Must own or have access to a vehicle

• Mileage: Reimbursed at $0.73/km

• Training: Provided by the organization

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Must have a valid driver's licence

• Punctual, attentive, and empathetic

• Own a vehicle or have access to one

• Comfortable and confident interacting with seniors

• Reliable and committed to regular delivery schedule

• Must agree to a criminal background check conducted by Entraide Ahuntsic Nord

• Respectful and patient approach to working with seniors

Key Responsibilities:

• Meal Delivery

  • Deliver hot meals to seniors' homes in a timely manner

  • Ensure meals arrive warm and in good condition

  • Follow the delivery route and schedule provided by the organization

  • Handle meals with care and respect

• Senior Interaction

  • Greet seniors warmly and professionally

  • Provide brief, friendly conversations with seniors

  • Be attentive to seniors' wellbeing and comfort

  • Show empathy and respect for each senior

  • Listen if seniors wish to share

• Organization & Communication

  • Maintain regular communication with the organization

  • Report any concerns or changes needed

  • Keep accurate records of deliveries

  • Coordinate schedule changes or special requests

  • Follow all organization protocols and procedures

• Community Connection

  • Build meaningful connections with seniors and the community

  • Help create a positive experience for each senior

  • Be a friendly face and source of connection during delivery

  • Contribute to reducing social isolation through meal delivery

Entraide Ahuntsic Nord is a community organization dedicated to supporting seniors in the Ahuntsic Nord area of Montreal. Through programs like meal delivery, friendly visits, phone calls, and other community initiatives, they work to reduce social isolation, improve nutrition and quality of life, and foster intergenerational connections.

The organization recognizes that many seniors face challenges maintaining proper nutrition and social connection, which can negatively impact their health and wellbeing. Volunteers like you are vital to their mission of ensuring every senior has access to nutritious meals and meaningful human connection.

Additional Information:

• Criminal background check will be conducted by Entraide Ahuntsic Nord

• Vehicle required (owner or access)

• Mileage reimbursement: $0.73/km

• Training provided before starting

• No prior meal delivery experience required

• Flexible commitment – volunteer at least once per week

• This opportunity is accessible and inclusive

• Morning delivery schedule from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
