Are you passionate about event coordination, leadership, and creating impactful experiences for youth?

Join the Lifesaving Society as a Next Wave Future Leaders Conference Volunteer and support the delivery of a national youth leadership conference focused on skill-building, networking, and innovation in the aquatics sector. This in-person opportunity allows you to play a key role in creating a smooth, engaging, and inclusive event experience.


Commitment: Full-day or multi-day shifts during May 8–10, 2026

Location: In-person – Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton, Calgary, Alberta


Event Details:

  • Dates: May 8–10, 2026

  • Typical Event Hours: Approximately 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (may vary by role)

  • Volunteer Shifts: May require pre/post-event support (e.g., 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

  • Training: Pre-event briefing will be provided via email


Requirements:

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced event environment

  • Friendly, reliable, and adaptable

  • Interest in leadership, events, or community programming


Key Responsibilities:

  • Registration & Guest Services

    • Welcome attendees, support check-in, and distribute materials

    • Answer questions and assist with wayfinding throughout the event

    • Provide a positive first impression and support attendee flow

  • Session & Speaker Support

    • Assist with session setup, attendance tracking, and room management

    • Support speakers with materials, timing, and coordination

    • Help maintain organized and professional session spaces

  • Event Operations & Logistics

    • Support event setup and take-down, including signage and equipment

    • Assist with crowd flow, transitions between sessions, and general coordination

    • Provide flexible support across different areas as needed

  • Hospitality & Engagement

    • Support refreshment areas and maintain clean, welcoming spaces

    • Assist with participant engagement, networking, and event flow

    • Capture photos or support social media content (optional roles)
